My Unicorn died.

So, Wednesday (6/10/09) was a shitty day. why? because this happened (pics arent showing up for me. don't know why, but just copy and paste if they arent working for you either):





and then it pushed me into the green truck in front of me:

The insurance company has the car and I'm just waiting for
them to call me and tell me that it is totaled. the airbags went off, and theres
too much rear quarter panel damage on both sides. insurance won't want to fix
it. I'm pretty sure theyre just gunna write me a check. I just have to decide
whether I want to buy it back from them or not. If its really cheap I might buy
it back and part some stuff. I have someone interested in the whole car. But I
just don't know yet. I have to wait and see.

And what happened was we were approaching the intersection of 34th and
williston in gainesville and right beyond the intersection was a merge, so everyone was slammin on their
brakes even though the light was green. So I came to a stop about 3 feet behind
the green truck and I looked in my rear view and saw the charger coming.

Probably one of the scariest moments of my life. Pretty intimidating car to
see coming for you. so, It hit me, pushed me forward into the green truck and
yea, air bags went off, horrible smell yet again, flash backs to wrecking my
black kouki back in december. Pretty much sucked. I didnt get hurt as bad as
last time though. I have few scrapes and bruises. i look like i have a rug burn on my nose
because the airbag scrapped the skin off of it.

The old guy driving the charger (rental car) was really nice and apologetic
about it though. He said that in over 50 years of driving he had never hit
anyone before. He even gave me a hug after everything was over (not in the
creepy old man way, lol). He was probably thinking about how he would feel if it
happened to one of his own kids. I was just lucky cuz Michael was there (red ls1
s13) driving infront of the green truck I hit. He saw it happen in his mirror.
we were about to get on I75 to head back to Orlando so he really helped me out
and I rode back to orlando with him.

well, its totaled. the whole rear end got completely squished up so the trunk wont open and its rubbing on my rear wheels. airbags went off too.

anyway, nena, my phone finally broke (after having so many problems) so I have to get a new one. can you PM me your number? I should get a new phone within the next few days.

I havent been on in awhile and just saw this. I am glad you are okay but ugh that sucks. Have you decided if you are going to buy another one or go for something different?

I'm definitely getting another 240. after thinking about all the RWD cars I like 240s the best. I just dont know if I'll be getting the same model. I might get an older one so I don't feel as bad about getting on a track drifting it in to things. heh

That sounds like a plan! I dont blame you for getting another one, if I were in your situation I probably would too. After my Integra got stolen, I thought about all the cars I like and it came down to a Miata and another Integra and I couldnt resist the Integra so I got another one. I kind of regret it b/c I am always paranoid but I do love my car =]
